Financial Accounting Introduction

Financial accounting  is the profession of accounting involved with the information, review and summarizing of financial transactions associated to a business. This includes the formation of financial statements ready for public use. Stockholders, suppliers, banks, workers, government companies, business proprietors, and other stakeholders are examples of people involved in obtaining such information for determination making purposes.

Financial accountancy is administered by both local and international accounting rules. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is the conventional structure of guidelines for financial accounting practiced in any provided jurisdiction. It involves the precepts, laws and rules that accountants follow in documentation and summarizing and in the formation of financial statements.

While financial accounting is practiced to develop accounting information for people outside the industry or not engaged in the day-to-day running of the company,  managerial accounting gives accounting information to help administrators make choices to operate the business.
